An Argument Against Abortion

This video provides an excellent argument against abortion. It proves that pro-abortionists are in denial because they refuse to believe that abortion is murder.

According to the Bible, the murder of children in exchange for wealth is nothing new. Israel sacrificed their first-born children to Molech believing that this sacrifice to their pagan demonic deity would secure financial prosperity for them.

I hear you retort that surely this is not the case in our advanced western culture, and that we are simply more progressive in our thinking than Israel was in Old Testament times.

Are we not still perpetuating human sacrifice in exchange for financial prosperity? Jesus said that we cannot serve God and Mammon; that we would love one and hate the other (i.e the god we serve). According to the Bible, the love of money is the root of all evil. One of the reasons often cited as an argument for abortion, is that the person cannot afford to have the baby. The assertion is that the decision is based on financial expediency and not on moral grounds. This thinking simply confirms my statement that our society perpetuates human sacrifice in exchange for financial prosperity.

Jesus said, “if you love me you will keep my commandments”. Our society is totally preoccupied with the love of self. In Matthew 24 Jesus warned that one of the signs of the end of this age would be that men would be lovers of self more than lovers of God. We have exchanged the love of God for the love of self. This is self-worship, which is idolatry and idolatry is an abomination to God.

There is a far deeper problem though. We live as if there is no God and conclude that we are free to live as we please, without regard for God or His laws. We believe that we are intellectually and spiritually enlightened, progressive, educated. Our love affair with liberal secular humanism appeases our conscience because it affirms our sinful desires to live as we please.

According to the Bible, nothing is further from the truth. Romans 1 states that we are given over to delusion and spiritual darkness when we reject God’s truth. We are then left to our own devices to believe what we like and live as we please. But the wages of sin is death.

G.K. Chesterton once said “The first effect of not believing in God is to believe in anything.”
